Fake ads bearing the Star of David were reported around Szczecin in north-west Poland on Monday, claiming that the buildings will soon be confiscated and handed over to Jewish owners.
In France, Jewish residents were singled out and their homes spray-painted with Stars of David and Neo-Nazi slurs. One resident, Oliver Feldman, said that “I fear for my wife, for my children, for my own safety…every day I ask if it’ll happen again,” Ynet reported. In addition, 100 gravestones were desecrated and spray-painted with Swastikas close to Strasbourg.
In Spain, Neo-Nazi symbols and slurs were painted on the homes of noted Jewish residents in Madrid, among the victims were Uri and Reot Hominer who are educators on behalf of the World Zionist Organization. The city of Madrid had the slurs cleaned and the local police is investigating the case.
In Greece, a Jewish school in Athens was spray-painted with antisemitic slurs.
“Jews want to get money from Poland,” said Polish parliament member and United Poland politician Arkadiusz Mularczyk in an interview to news-site wPolityce.pl over the weekend. “They [Jews] get a lot of money from Germany…now they decided it’s our turn,” he said.
The Polish fake ads pointed to the Trump administration S. 447 Recent Justice for Uncompensated Survivors Act from 2017 as the reason for the alleged forced evacuation of Poles from their homes.
The act directed the US State Department to request countries who signed the Terezin Declaration to report on Holocaust victims assets they currently own and what steps are being taken to ensure they return to the survivors and their decedents.
With the post-war establishment of the People’s Republic of Poland [PRL] both Jewish owned and Polish owned assets were taken over by the state with the intention to rebuild the country.
Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz told the Associated Press the new law places Jews above non-Jewish claimants and “divides our society,” the Jewish Press reported.
