Former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile told the crowd at the annual meeting of The Wall Street Journal CEO Council that she does not expect Hillary Clinton to run for president again in 2020.

Brazile was speaking to the conference about the current state of the Democratic Party.

“The Democrats, who many of us believe ‘spent some time in the wilderness’ have come from behind — and I thought that we would have to go to Count Dracula’s blood bank to get new blood in the Democratic Party. Thank God we got some new blood,” Brazile said. “There are a lot of freshmen from across the country. Many of them lack legislative experience and so it will kind of take time for them to get accustomed to the slow pace of passing legislation.”

Brazile went on to say that she does not believe Clinton will run again.

Brazile’s belief stands in stark contrast to Clinton’s former adviser Mark Penn, who warned the public last month that we should brace ourselves for another run from the power hungry sore loser.

Penn co-wrote in a Sunday op-ed for the Wall Street Journal in November that she “won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.”

“True to her name, Mrs. Clinton will fight this out until the last dog dies,” the op-ed that Penn authored with Andrew Stein claims. “She won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.”

During Monday’s conference, Brazile explained that there could be as many as 30 candidates in the Democratic primary and that she does not believe Clinton will be one of them.

Clinton recently admitted that while she doesn’t want to run again — she would “like to be president.”
